I really liked their Beef black curry udon with added mushrooms! I liked how it was saucy but the sauce dries up. It's a bit peppery and not super curry flavoured, but I liked it! We also tried the scallop with truffle cream spaghetti and it was tasty. Would have been nice with more mushrooms perhaps! I liked my udon dish better than the spaghetti though but I typically like thicker noodles. :)
We also tried the seafood pancake which was good but not as great as the korean seafood pancakes with noodles and etc! Still yummy and great presentation on a warm skillet and tons of bonito flakes :)

We come to this place occasionally, today was a terrible experience. We were greeted and seated as usual then placed our orders. Upon receiving our order the waiter mishandled the hot plate and it slid towards us almost burning us. Then she went to grab a rag to put it back on the wood surface that holds the hot plate. As she did that the rag touched the food but she continued to serve it as nothing happened. It clearly touched the food as it was curry on a white rag.
I lost my appetite at this point. My friend did not want to cause a scene so I kept it and just ate around the area it touched. While eating I could constantly see them use that same rag to clean tables and surfaces. After that I couldn't stomache anymore. -

If you want some sizzling hot plates with a good variety of toppings then this is the place to be. Located in the busy plaza that is First Markham Place, parking may be difficult to find especially during peak hours when everyone is trying to get dinner in the multitude of restaurants that are open here. It's likely you may need to wait for a table as it's always busy here.
The menu offers different styles of hot plates from rice to udon and you can either pick their pre-made offerings or make your own plate and choose rice/udon and protein options. They also have deluxe options where the meat is more high quality. When the plate comes, the meat is usually raw and this is where you mix up the rice which contains a good sized piece of butter and cook the meat or egg (if you ordered an add-on) from the heat. It's extremely buttery and flavourful and I don't think you can go wrong with any offerings they have. I have had their duck breast, salmon, truffle udon, pork katsu and they've all been really good.
Unfortunately, I find their meat can be so thinly sliced at times that I feel like I'm just eating a bowl of rice and it makes the price you pay for not worth it. I also hate how their eggs always smell like spoiled milk and it gets on your fingers too. It's absolutely a turn off when eating. They really need to move the eggs somewhere else in their kitchen. Servers can be quiet sometimes and don't tell you what they're serving you.
Even with the cons, I have returned to this place occasionally. It's still good food and they have a large menu to choose from. I have yet to try more of their appetizers or desserts so I'll be sure to update this review when I do. -

They took away my drink I was holding. Not happy about that. Also they don't allow taking home left overs when using coupon (was not specified on coupon). Portions are small, price is expensive. Waited 15 min for a seat while the restaurant was almost empty (nobody bothered to check the entrance). Parking at First Markham Place is often busy.

I've heard of Flaming Kitchen Before but never got the chance to go until...now. The hot plates seemed super appealing to me so I was excited to try it.
The menu is quite extensive and customizable - they had some veggie and fish options which was perfect for me. I decided on the salmon hot plate - with Tom yum sauce.
I came in a large group and the orders were prepared a bit slowly. But the servers still ensured the food was coming out steaming hot more or less at the same time.
I liked how the salmon was still cooking and you could wait until it was prepared to your desired level of done. The rice and veggies in the middle were delish and slightly crisp on the outside due to the hot stone plate.
The salmon tasted pretty good. The sauce was a bit salty for my liking so I think I'd try another one next time.
Someone in my group also ordered the ice cream which looked really good, but I didn't try any.
In all, it was a good meal, tasty and good value. I'd come back!
